Safe Harbour
Week 3
Bridge over troubled water.
Week 2
The water gave me no end of trouble
hence the name.
Week 1
Three weeks ago, I started Pastel Painting Classes. I have enjoyed doing classes and I find that I spend more time creatively if I have some direction. I still really enjoy acrylic painting, but I wanted to do something that challenged me further. So I thought I would give pastels a go.

Manhole Cover
(For Alex)

Part of me
to the core
it covers
compresses
suppresses
all that
bubbles
beneath
the surface
it contains
all the grief
and sorrow
laughter
and joy
fear
and loathing
love
and joy
part of me
to the core
the cover
is all that
you see.

I have been creating artwork everyday, I have found it to be very therapeutic. I started creating Glue book pages after seeing them on Lisa Vollrath's site. http://www.lisavollrath.com/index.php I joined the gluebooks yahoogroup and have been following the prompts. My Gluebook pages are here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/92484523@N00/sets/

Yesterday's prompt was last, end, final. The End was the resulting gluebook page that I created.
Which is quite ironic I feel because yesterday was Kav's 4 birthday/anniversary.

Raven Song

my wings have been clipped
it is for the best
my flight path curtailed
wingspan shortened
I will circle close to home
no longer to soar in the
heavens with the fledglings

For Alex
(17 February 2005)

I can’t forget the weeks
That should have been months.
The pain that came too soon.

I can’t forget the sickness in the morning
That sometimes lasted all day.
The shock of hearing you were there.
I thought you my miracle child.

I can’t forget the first ultrasound
My jellybean with a heartbeat.
I watched you grow in black and white.

I can’t forget the tightened skin
Stretched and taut.
Your kicks at first like butterfly flutters.
Growing stronger gathering strength.

I can’t forget the day they told us
‘It’s a Boy!’
And then telling Troy.

I can’t forget being full of hope
That somehow
Things would go our way.

I can’t forget
The hospital appointment
That became a ten day stay.

I can’t forget the fear I felt
The prayers I prayed
The boredom and the tears.

I can’t forget the day
The dream was shattered
Contractions getting stronger.

I can’t forget hearing the news
That it was inevitable
No intervention would be offered.

I can’t forget the pain
In my breaking heart
Knowing you would be left to die.

I can’t forget
Seeing you for the first time
Holding you in my arms and
Realising that our hopes and dreams
Were shattered.

I can’t forget you
My angel child
Taken before your time.
